(JTA) — An event marking Israel’s 70th year will be held at President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Florida.
The event scheduled for late March is organized by the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, which is selling tickets for $1,000 per table, Haaretz first reported.
Speakers at the event will include the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley; Israel’s ambassador to the U.N., Danny Danon; and former Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
In August, nine groups canceled planned galas at the Florida resort owned by Trump.

WASHINGTON (JTA) — The Oslo Accords? “Killed,” the Palestinian Authority president says, blaming Israel.
The Israeli prime minister says the Palestinians are now “unmasked” — but naturally he blames the Palestinians.
Notably, the United States is silent.
The P.A. president, Mahmoud Abbas, delivered a rambling address of more than two hours this weekend to the Palestine Liberation Organization’s Central Council.
“Today is the day that the Oslo Accords end,” he said. “Israel killed them.”
Abbas blamed the restrictions under which his Palestinian Authority operates and what he regards as Israel’s unrestrained occupation activity.
“We are an authority without any…
WASHINGTON (JTA) — Efforts by the Trump transition team to kill a 2016 U.N. Security Council resolution slamming Israel’s settlement policies were more widespread than was previously known, according to a Wall Street Journal report.
The report Friday said the effort encompassed a number of transition officials beyond Michael Flynn, the national security adviser-designate who was previously known to have made the effort.
Also involved in the effort were Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, who directed Flynn to make the calls, and Nikki Haley, the designated ambassador to the United Nations who put in a call to…
(JTA) — Nikki Haley, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, hosted a reception for the 64 countries that voted against or abstained from voting on a resolution condemning President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
The “Friends of the U.S.” reception was held Wednesday night in New York at the U.S. mission to the United Nations.
“It’s easy for friends to be with you in the good times, but it’s the friends who are with you during the challenging times that will never be forgotten. Thank you to the 64,” the U.S. mission posted on Facebook along…
WASHINGTON (JTA) — Nikki Haley, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, said President Donald Trump’s threat to cut funding to the Palestinians could extend to the UNRWA, the relief agency for Palestinians.
“The president has basically said that he doesn’t want to give any additional funding or stop funding until the Palestinians are agreeing to come back to the negotiating table,” Haley said at a news conference Tuesday when asked if the threats to cut funding extended to UNRWA.
Haley said the threats to cut funding were a result of the U.N. General Assembly condemning, at…
