White House fires top Tillerson aide Steve Goldstein

(JTA) — Steve Goldstein, a top aide to former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, was fired only hours after President Donald Trump said on Twitter that he was firing Tillerson.

The White House said it was dismissing Goldstein, NBC News reported. Goldstein, who is Jewish, served as under secretary for public diplomacy and public affairs and was a top spokesman for Tillerson. He had only been in his position since December after serving as senior vice president of BP Global Solutions.

(JTA) — Actress Amber Tamblyn claims a “Hasidic man” tried to run her and her baby over in Brooklyn.

The accusation, made in a tweet asking if there were any witnesses to Sunday’s incident, led to some angry responses against Tamblyn and condemnations of the Hasidic community.

(JTA) — The Wisconsin Republican Party has dumped a congressional candidate who has tweeted anti-Semitic statements and ideas, and identifies with the “alt-right.”

Paul Nehlen, who is running to unseat Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., the speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, in this year’s elections was permanently banned from Twitter last week for racist and anti-Semitic tweets. US ambassador accuses unnamed Palestinian leaders of praising deadly stabbing attack

JERUSALEM (JTA) — U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman accused unnamed Palestinian leaders of praising a terror attack that left an Israeli father of four dead.

David Friedman did not say which Palestinian leaders he was referring to in the tweet on Tuesday morning, the day after the stabbing. No members of the Palestinian Authority leadership have praised the attack. A spokesman for Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, lauded the attack as “a continuation of the resistance to Trump’s Jerusalem declaration.”

Gal Gadot to voice herself on ‘The Simpsons’

(JTA) — Israeli actress Gal Gadot will voice herself on an episode of “The Simpsons.”

Gadot will appear in an episode of the animated sitcom titled “Bart’s Not Dead” airing in season 30 this fall, The Wrap reported Monday.

On Tuesday, the “Wonder Woman” star announced her news on Twitter accompanied by a video of her autographing the blue hair of Simpson’s character Marge on a poster also autographed by other screen stars.
